A recent survey shows that South Korean products have been slapped with 179 antidumping duties or other types of measures that restrict their imports across the world.

The Korea International Trade Association(KITA) said Tuesday that 31 countries were found to have been imposing a total of 179 import regulation measures on South Korea as of the end of last month.

Of them, 125 were antidumping duties, while 47 others were safeguard measures and seven others were antidumping and countervailing duties.

India was found to be imposing the most regulations on South Korean goods by taking 32 measures, followed by the U.S. with 23. China and Brazil followed with eleven measures each, while Turkey and Indonesia imposed ten regulations apiece.

Most of the South Korean products subject to the import regulations were currently in excessive supply in the world, including steel, metal and chemical products. Textiles were subject to 14 measures and electronics and electromechanical goods eight regulations.

The South Korean government plans to raise its voice against the import regulations in trade talks with other countries and create a joint government-civilian committee to come up with countermeasures.
