The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will form a task force to prepare for the expected disclosure of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement next month.
The ministry said Tuesday that the task force will be headed by Director General for FTA Negotiations Kim Hak-do and charged with analyzing the disclosed deal.
Assistant Trade Minister Woo Tae-hee noted that nations participating in the TPP are conducting legal reviews, translations and other technical tasks in Japan at the moment.
He added that given the political situation in the United States and other factors, the TPP agreement is expected to be revealed next month.
The ministry also projects the U.S. government will sign the TPP around February followed by congressional deliberation and ratification after March.
