LPPOM MUI held an International Training on Halal Assurance System (HAS) for three days. Held from 26 until May 28, 2015, a total of 85 participants from various countries present at this annual training.

Participants from Spain, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, France, the Philippines, China, South Korea, India and Argentina participate in the Training HAS this time. Among them are companies with MUI halal certificate or other kosher certification agency that has recognized 15 countries in Asia, Europe and America.

Also present LPPOM Director MUI, Dr.Ir. Lukmanul Hakim, M.Si, at HAS’s Training. He argued the Government of the Republic of Indonesia together with the House of Representatives (DPR) has been set and validate Act (Act) No. 33 Year 2014 on Halal Product Guarantee (JPH) October 17, 2014 last. In the JPH Act mentioned all food products imported into Indonesia should have Halal Certificate (SH).

Lukmanul judge also cites Article 4 of Law JPH which confirms the products that enter, circulate, and traded in the region of Indonesia is required to be certified kosher.

“With the mandate of the Act, all food products entering Indonesia must be certified halal by the MUI, or an SH of kosher certification agency that has been recognized by MUI system with the Mutual Recognition Agreement,” said Lukmanul Hakim, as reported from halalmui. org (05/26/2015).

LPPOM MUI leaders have also explained that the implementation of HAS or Halal Assurance System (HAS) is defined requirements for obtaining Halal Certificate of MUI. It aims to ensure halal products are distributed to Indonesia, according to Law JPH.

HAS implementation is very important because the halal issue is a very sensitive issue in Indonesia. There are many cases of disturbing the public related to this issue.

Training HAS LPPOM MUI is an annual event, especially for halal certification bodies abroad which has been recognized by MUI. An increase in participants and institutional, this year HAS Training will be held twice. In May and September 2015, in conjunction with the exhibition Halal Expo Indonesia (INDHEX).
