The Trade Ministry says exports rose 13-point-four percent on year to 45 billion dollars in May, extending the upward streak to seven months.
It is the first time in more than five years that exports have grown for seven consecutive months.
Overseas shipments of semiconductors and solid-state drives reached a record high last month. Almost eight billion dollars worth of semiconductors and 440 million dollars worth of solid-state drives were exported.
The Trade Ministry said it expects exports will maintain its recovery pace this month as global trade is recovering and efforts to reform the nation’s export structure are paying off.
