Indonesian Investment Promotion delegation headed by chairman Thomas Lembong visited Busan to attract Korean investment to Indonesia. Mr. Lily Wartadipraja director of east java province investment promotion board was included in the delegation. The business forum was focused on competitiveness as an investment in East Java as new growing engine in Indonesia.
East Java is one of 34 Indonesia province with 39 million population and the capital city Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia. “East Java prov with cheaper labor than West Java is very attractive city for foreign investment” director Lily explained. Last year East Java economic growth rate was 5.44% that was higher than 4.79% of Indonesia average growth rate. Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) the largest industrial compkex is under construction and expected to complete in 2025.
