Seoul – Batik is synonymous with Indonesia, Batik is the soul of Indonesia. Beginning from there, a batik exhibition themed “바틱, 인도네시아 의 영훈” or “Batik: The Soul of Indonesia”, held at the Gana Art Center, Insadong, Seoul on June 22 to 27
This is the exhibition of batik observers collaboration of various institutions in Korea and Indonesia, as Hansae Isa 24 Foundation, Embassy in Seoul, Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Textile Museum Indonesia, ASEAN – Korea Center, and the Korea-Indonesia Association and Korean Culture Study. As an Indonesian cultural treasures are recognized by UNESCO as world heritage, batik was continued to reverberate
“Hopefully this exhibition further strengthens the cultural ties between the two countries,” said Lee Gye-Woo, chairman of the current exhibition press release. Especially because there are 60 traditional batik and batik contemporary 40 in this exhibition. Many collectors and designers karnyanya batik works included in this exhibition, among which are Agus Ismayo, Nia Fliam, and Harry Darsono
