Total coal consumption fell sharply in major developed countries, like the US over the last 5 years thanks to efforts to cut greenhouse gases.
But in South Korea increased the amount of consumption, although the upward trend that began recently stalled.
Based on the reports of the international energy released by a global energy company BP recently, the amount of coal consumption last year of a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development -OECD reached 979.2 million tons. Figures for the first time fell to below one billion tons in 33 years, or since 1982, and down 12.2% when compared to 2010.
Meanwhile, the number of coal consumption in South Korea naik11,2% in 5 years, from 75.9 million tons in 2010 to 84.5 million tons last year.
During the same period China shows an upward trend which is almost the same as South Korea, which is about 10.2%, and India increased sharply by 39%.
