Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries on Thursday (03/12/2015) has launched a project task force halal food in South Korea Food Research Institute that halal food can be grown as one of South Korea’s main export products.
Halal food project task force in South Korea Food Research Institute consists of nine researchers and a review of halal foods including market demand and project support activation of halal food.
In addition, the unit of the food project will analyze the guidelines Halal food guide line in any Islamic country and develop appropriate guidelines are halal food and distribute it to the producers of domestic halal food.
The government will support domestic food producers forward to halal food market that will increase exports of halal food in the last year reached 680 million dollars to more than 1.23 billion dollars by the year 2017 forward.
While South Korea and the United Arab Emirates have signed the MoU in terms of halal food at the summit meeting of March 5.
The market volume of halal food and beverages is estimated at 1.88 trillion dollars in 2012 and 16.8% control of the food and beverage world market.
In addition, domestic demand for halal food is increasing because many Muslim foreigners who entered South Korea.
Therefore, producers of food and drinks were trying to obtain halal certification. For example, PT CJ has received halal certification for 43 kinds of food products and export to Malaysia and Singapore.
