Two ships belonging to Hanjin Shipping have successfully unloaded their cargo at ports in Spain and the United States.
A government task force handling the Hanjin crisis held a meeting on Saturday co-chaired by the chiefs of the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
The task force, which is working to keep the Hanjin vessels from being seized at overseas ports, said that of the 97 container ships owned by Hanjin, 28 have completed the unloading process at ports at home and abroad.
The number of stranded Hanjin ships idling off the coastal waters around the world dropped to 34 as the Hanjin Spain and the Hanjin Greece recently offloaded at the ports of Valencia and Oakland, respectively and 35 other ships will return home.
The government said that it is holding negotiations to ensure that the Hanjin ships holding their positions off coastal waters will be permitted to dock and unload at the ports in New York, Singapore and Mexico early next week.
