JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Directorate General of Export Development (PEN) Ministry of Trade intensified the pursuit of export target in 2016. China remained glimpsed as one of export destination market penetration through participation in the exhibition DGNED China International Import Expo (CIIE), 2016.
The exhibition, which was held over the implementation of the 7th Asian Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF) will be held on 19-21 May 2016, in Kunshan, China.
“We continue to realize the achievement of the export target that has been set in 2016. DGNED has programmed various international promotional activities both at home and abroad,” said Acting. Director General of Export Development, Tjahya Widayanti, in Jakarta (05/18/2016).
The total value of trade between Indonesia and China in January-February 2016 amounted to 7.1 billion US dollars, or decreased 7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year amounting to 7.6 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, non-oil export value of Indonesia-China in January-February 2016 amounted to 1.8 billion US dollars, down 11.1 percent over the same period in the previous year were worth 2.0 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, imports to China also declined. The import value of Indonesian non-oil products in January-February 2016 amounted to 4.9 billion US dollars, down 6.1 percent over the same period the previous year were worth 5.2 US miliardollar.
Tjahya explained, DGNED The Ministry of Trade continue to encourage the export of Indonesian products through a variety of occasions, such as by providing facilities for the businesses Indonesian booth at the exhibition CIIE, 2016.
At the exhibition CIIE already entered the implementation of the 8th time, the range of products displayed, among other branded consumer goods, metal working and automation, as well as environmental protection and new material.
Tjahya optimistic that this exhibition can provide added value in order to increase the value of exports. Therefore, the annual exhibition was visited by importers, wholesalers, and distributors from various countries.
“Therefore, this exhibition is very important to follow Indonesia that Indonesian products is increasingly recognized and absorbed by the Asian market, and the world at large,” said Tjahya. In CIIE 2016 Indonesia Pavilion will occupy an area of 72 square meters, with the theme “Trade with Remarkable Indonesia. ”
Last year, CIIE attended by 331 participants from 30 countries, such as Japan, Korea, Poland, India,
Thailand, Viet Nam, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Italy, Sweden, Germany, USA, and Brazil, with a total of 30 country pavilions in the area of 35,000 m2
Tjahya revealed that in 2016 there will be over 350 exhibitors from 31 countries
participate. While the number of visitors is estimated at more than 30,000 local visitors and
foreign as from Europe (13.70 per cent), Asia (39.52 per cent), Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan (29.03 percent), American (16.14 percent), and Oceania (1.61 percent).
“We expect the participation of Indonesia in 2016 CIIE can obtain optimal transaction so as to increase the value of Indonesian non-oil exports, which in turn can boost the value of exports,” said Tjahya.
