South Korean officials will conduct plant quarantine training for 16 experts from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos and Malaysia and other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN).
Seoul’s Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency said invited experts will attend classes and on-site training from Monday until Saturday next week.
The program began in 2006 as part of South Korea’s Official Development Aid(ODA).
South Korean officials said efforts to support the training of ASEAN quarantine experts will continue to improve the safety of imported farm products, as related trade with Southeast Asia is expected to grow.
