South Korea has kicked off a forum to discuss ways to share its knowhow of energy management systems to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN).

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on Thursday launched the first ASEAN-Korea Energy Safety Policy Forum in Incheon.

Until Friday, South Korean officials and about 30 representatives in charge of energy safety from the ten ASEAN member nations are participating in the forum.

The ministry said the occasion was organized to assess ASEAN nations’ policy needs in order to gauge what helpful aspects of South Korea’s energy safety management system can be transferred.

The ASEAN nations have so far given presentations of their own energy management conditions and related tasks and adopted a statement vowing to hold the forum every year.
