The average annual salary at South Korea’s top 100 firms is estimated at 77-point-four million won or about 67-thousand-200 U.S. dollars as of 2014.
Local job portal Saramin released the information after analyzing data of 80 of the top 100 companies in terms of revenue that submitted reports to the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system.
The highest paying firm was NH Investment & Securities with a salary of 120 million won.
Chemical maker Yeochun NCC and the Korean Reinsurance Company followed, both at 107 million won.
SK Energy, SK Telecom and Samsung Electronics trailed with about 101 million won each.
Oil refinery GS-Caltex, Kia Motors, S-Oil and Hyundai Motor rounded out the top ten with salaries ranging from 96 to 99-point-eight million won.
The wage gap between men and women was about 35 million won. Male employees at 49 firms earned 90 million won annually on average while female workers received 54-point-eight million won.
