The government plans to fund nine-point-two billion won, or seven-point-seven million U.S. dollars, into the sectors of safety products and service development this year.

Beginning Tuesday, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy sent out a public notification describing the blueprint and inviting companies to apply for the funding.

The ministry said it plans to launch eight new projects through the process and provide support amounting to two-point-eight billion won.

Total funding will come to nine-point-two billion won, including six-point-four billion won of support for existing projects.

The ministry will give priority to products and services that may be commercialized such as safety technologies at industrial sites and safety techniques for tackling crimes and taking out fires.
