The South Korean government will complete domestic procedures needed to initiate a renegotiation of its free trade agreement(FTA) with the U.S. by December 18th.

The parliamentary committee on trade and industry said on Tuesday that the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will submit a plan on the renegotiation during the committee’s plenary session on December 18th.

The government is required to present a detailed report to the parliament before starting trade talks, including the goal of the talks, major issues and response plans.

The report would wrap up domestic procedures needed for opening negotiations on amendments to the KORUS FTA.
