Rice prices further tumbled this month compared to October when it posted a 21-year low.

According to the Statistics Korea on Friday, the price of rice per 20 kilograms was 32-thousand-337 won as of November fifth, down zero-point-two percent from 32-thousand-407 won recorded ten days earlier.

The price of an 80-kilogram sack of rice as of November fifth amounted to 129-thousand-348 won, down from 129-thousand-628 won last month, which was the lowest level since 1995.

The continuous drop in rice price is concerning rice farmers and policymakers as it comes despite the expected decrease in supply caused by frequent rains during the harvest season and extremely high temperatures this past summer.
