South Korean workers only earn half what their German counterparts make per hour due to longer work hours and lower productivity, a report by an international economic organization showed Tuesday.

According to the work quality report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the purchasing power parity (PPP) adjusted gross hourly wage for a South Korean worker stood at $14.60 in 2013, ranking 22nd among the 33 member countries.

In the same year, a typical German worker earnes $31.20 per hour. Slovenia ranked 21st with an average worker making $18 per hour, with Japan coming in at 20th with $19.60. (Yonhap)
